We raise our rabbits using no growth hormones or antibiotics so that you don't have to worry about after effects those might cause for your animals. We also raise them in wire cages off of the ground to avoid diseases and parasites common in other types of environments.
Most of these are young rabbits. Many are between the ages of eight to twelve weeks. That means the meat will be moist and tender, just like you would purchase for yourself.
We believe that it is very important we dispatch our rabbits humanely. We use cervical dislocation as we feel it causes only momentary discomfort to our rabbits prior to their passing. In addition, there is no gassing or drugs given that you have to worry about being in their system that could affect your animal's health.
As we continue to produce more and smaller rabbits, we will use some CO2 tanks for the smaller rabbits (under 2#), quail and other chicks that we may be raising. This will be necessary in order to dispatch smaller animals as cervical dislocation is not workable for the small animals.
Rabbits4U shows the weight of each individual rabbit product on the outside of the package to assist you in meal planning. Each package may contain two or three rabbits but we mark the packaging with the individual rabbit weights so you know how much you are feeding your pets.
